Therapeutic Communication

Therapeutic Communication is due no later than 1/25. When completing the assignment, there should be a dialogue between you (the nurse) and the client using the techniques of therapeutic communication. You may include silence, or therapeutic touch as a technique. For example:

Nurse walks into client’s room who is crying after noted hanging up the phone.

Nurse: You seem upset.

Client: My boyfriend/girlfriend just broke up with me.

Nurse: Therapeutic touch on arm.

Client: (Crying). He/she says the long distance is not working out.

Nurse: This must be difficult for you. I am here if you would like to discuss this more.

Client: Thank you. I appreciate that.

(Side Note: Continue with an organic conversation/exchange).

Assignment must be typed and a minimum of 10 pages, 5 evidence-based references are required and cited accordingly. The prevailing hypothesis for schizophrenia implicates the neurotransmitter dopamine as playing a key role in the development of the disease. Dopamine acts on several areas of the brain with differing effects. Please outline the key dopamine pathways and the implications of antipsychotic use on each pathway.

Please read chapter 8 and 9 of the class textbook and review the attached PowerPoint presentations.  Once done answer the following questions;

1.  Give an overview of the Inhabited localities and topography of the Appalachian and Arab heritage.

2.  Discuss any similarities in the beliefs of the Appalachian and Arab heritages regarding the delivery of healthcare.

3.  How the religion or folks beliefs influence the delivery of healthcare in these two heritages.

You must cite or quote at least two evidence-based references (besides the class textbook) no older than 5 years old. Two replies to any or yours peers sustained with the proper reference (s) are required.  An example of how to present the first page is attached for your guidance.

A minimum of 600 words excluding the first and references page is required.
