Ethical issues in NIKE. This essay is for a module called ‘Communications, Culture & Organisations’.
There is no need for an introduction, I have already done this.

In the essay the following questions should be answered:
– Why is it important to consider the ethical issues raised by/within organisations?
– The essay should include things such as critical views on Corporate Social Responsibility, Globalisation, Liquid Labour, and what has been said about the issue of sweatshops and NIKE in the media?
– Is Corp.Social.Resp enough to solve the issues of sweatshops and unethical production? Think about the responsibilities of an organisation towards society/the environment and its stakeholders. What about the power of consumers, and boycotting NIKE? Do the government have responsibility or should the workers be joining unions and protecting themselves? Talk about Business Ethics.
– Is boycotting a solution to the issue of sweatshops? What are the ethical issues for sweatshops? Have sweatshops had an affect on the economy? What are sweatshops and how have they become such a big problem?
– How problematic is the idea of Corporate Social Responsibility when you think of it in the global economy when there are unstable jobs, outsourcing in countries where the wages are minimal and products are being produced in sweatshops- Who’s responsibility is it?
