CREATE A TOPIC AND RESEARCH PROPOSAL IN ONE ASPECT OF CHILD COGNITIVE DEVELOPMENT

You will write an original 6 page proposal for a research project exploring one aspect of Child Cognitive Development. Your project will have 4 sections: 1) Literature Review – an in-depth literature review that presents the topic and relevant literature, previous research/findings and what still needs to be done, 2) Rationale – explain why/where there is a gap in our understanding and why this topic is worth further research, present your research questions, 3) Methods – describe you study design, who your subjects will be, how you will recruit subjects, your ethical procedures, the materials you will need, your data analysis plan; 4) What you expect conclusions. Paper must be 12 point font, Times New Roman, double-spaced, standard margins, APA format, and references at the end.

You need to find at least 4 academic sources to cite in your paper. For this assignment, I do not require them to be peer-reviewed papers – chapters from edited academic volumes are ok, but I DO require that you used the library database to find these sources.
Throughout the course you will turn in formative assignments to build up to the final Research Proposal and have the chance to give and get feedback from your classmates. Review the Rubrics (Research Proposal Topic, Research Experimental Design, and Research Proposal) – see below
